K–9 Division

The K-9 Division

The Suffolk County Sheriff’s Department currently utilizes Six officer/K-9 teams. Four of the canines are cross-trained in Patrol and Narcotics. One is trained in Patrol and explosive ordinance detection, and the other canine has singular training, specializing in Narcotics. The following is a current list of K-9 handlers and their partners:

Lieutenant Corey Lewis is paired with K-9 “Stuka”, a Belgian Malinois trained in Patrol and Narcotics detection

Sergeant Mike Carbonneau is paired with K-9 “Oden,” a German shepherd trained in Patrol and Narcotics detection.

Sgt. Zachery Miller is paired with K-9 “Jack,” a Black Labrador Retriever trained Narcotics detection.

Sgt. Daniel Fitzgibbons is paired with K-9 “Kano” a Belgian Malinois trained in Patrol and Narcotics detection.

Deputy William Jackson is paired with K-9 “Ekho,” a Belgian Malinois trained in Patrol and Explosive Ordinance detection.

Deputy Richard Tran is paired with K-9 “Sasha” Belgian Malinois trained in Patrol and Narcotics detection.
These canine teams provide additional security for Department facilities and search for narcotics inside the House of Correction and the Nashua Street Jail, as well as assist other law enforcement agencies in searches for narcotics, fleeing felons, explosive ordinances or lost children.
