As Chief Civil Deputy, Lawrence McGrath supervises the serving of legal documents within Suffolk County. A graduate of Suffolk University Law School in 1992, Deputy McGrath was appointed to his position in 1999. He served as the President of the Mass. Deputy Sheriff’s Association from 2001-2003, after becoming the Association’s vice president in 2000. Deputy McGrath was elected President of the Massachusetts Deputy Sheriff's Association again in 2004. He received a Bachelor’s degree in Economics from the University of New Hampshire in 1982.
