Suffolk County Sheriff’s Department Officer Randy Gallo was one of the honorees recognized during the Annual Correctional Employee of the Year Awards ceremony held at the Massachusetts State House. Each year, the fourteen County Sheriffs and the Massachusetts Department of Correction nominate correctional employees for their bravery and dedication to public service. Joined by Suffolk County Sheriff’s Department Chief-of-Staff and House of Correction Superintendent Yolanda Smith, the Department’s Director of Social Services Reverend Cedric Rucker, and other members of the Department, Officer Gallo was presented with the Meritorious Recognition Award by Lieutenant Governor Karyn Polito and Secretary of the Executive Office of Public Safety and Security Thomas Turco, III.
