Offender Reentry Program

reentry discussionThe The Offender Reentry Program (ORP) is a collaboration with Bunker Hill Community College, which serves as the lead agency, the Suffolk County Sheriff’s Department and Youth Opportunity Boston. ORP’s mission is to provide students in the Suffolk County House of Correction with the necessary resources to successfully transition to the community. Both while in the course and after graduation, students are provided comprehensive case management to assist them with achieving their personal, educational and career goals.

All ORP graduates are offered comprehensive follow-up services for six months once they return to the community. The program’s case manager serves as the lead person in contacting students and is a resource for needs such as counseling, housing, education and other personal matters. ORP is able to provide assistance with necessities such as transportation, clothing for interviews and obtaining identification. Additionally, a job developer is available at Youth Opportunity Boston to assist students with their employment search and career development.
