SHERIFF TOMPKINS LENDS SUPPORT TO ROCA’S EFFORTS AGAINST VIOLENCE

(L to R) City of Chelsea Manager Jay Ashe, MA State Treasurer Steve Grossman, Exec. Dir.of Roca Molly Baldwin, Governor of MA Deval Patrick, Suffolk County Sheriff Steven Tompkins, President of MassINC Greg Torres and Hampden County Sheriff Michael Ashe.

Suffolk County Sheriff Steven W. Tompkins recently took part in the 25th Anniversary breakfast/fundraiser for Roca – the Chelsea–based anti–violence organization committed to helping high–risk young people to make the critical changes that can help them to achieve a more positive future.

Held at the Seaport Hotel on South Boston’s Waterfront, the event continued Roca’s annual tradition of bringing together a diverse group from the public and private sector in support of their mission.

That mission, as stated by the organization, entails “helping to alter the life trajectories of America's most high–risk young people -- the young people that are involved in crime, engaged in dangerous behaviors, have rejected help, have dropped out of school and are simply too difficult for other programs to serve.”
