SHERIFF CABRAL, DEPARTMENT HELP CELEBRATE NATIONAL NIGHT OUT

Suffolk County Sheriff Andrea J. Cabral and several officers and staff members from the Sheriff’s Department joined with other branches of law enforcement, crime watch groups, and citizens of Suffolk County to participate in National Night Out 2008.

Visiting celebrations over the past month in Winthrop, Revere, Chelsea, and Boston Police Department Open House events in communities throughout Boston – including East Boston, Dorchester, Mattapan, Allston/Brighton, Jamaica Plain, West Roxbury, the South End, Hyde Park, the North End, Roslindale, Charlestown, and others – Sheriff Cabral and members of the Department have greeted National Night Out (NNO) attendees and handed out Sheriff’s Department safety tips coloring books and crayons, Junior Deputy badges, and employed the Ident–A–Youth fingerprinting program.

Embodying the spirit of this year’s theme, “The Power of Neighbors,” the Sheriff’s Department and participating partners joined with an estimated crowd of 12,000 celebrants during the signature event in Roxbury’s Franklin Park Zoo to make NNO 2008 a tremendous success.
