Boston- This week on Common Ground, the cable TV show of the
Suffolk County Sheriff’s Department, Chief of External Affairs
Steve Tompkins will welcome Robert Lewis Jr, Director of Boston
Centers for Youth and Families, as his guest. Lewis, who was
recently a panelist for Sheriff Cabral’s community forum, "The
Hand That Rocks the Cradle: The Rise of the Female Offender," will
discuss his work in the community, as well his Girls’ Summit,
which will convene August 12. Lewis oversees forty–six community
centers across Boston and in the 1990’s created Street Workers,
a youth outreach initiative.
"I see Robert Lewis Jr as the ultimate man on the streets,
working in the communities to effectuate positivity," says
Chief Tompkins of Lewis. "It is an honor to have a real,
dedicated public servant talk about the issues that are important
to him on our show."
Common Ground airs Thursdays at 1:30 PM on Boston Neighborhood
Network Channel 9, with re– runs Thursday nights and Friday
mornings. This week’s show will broadcast live, giving viewers
the opportunity to call in with questions and comments.
