SUFFOLK COUNTY SHERIFF’S DEPARTMENT PARTICIPATED IN SEAVER STREET CLEANUP

Dorchester—Members from the Suffolk County Sheriff’s Department Community Works Program participated in a clean up of Seaver Street in Dorchester on Wednesday, July 27, 2005. The Sheriff’s Department provided cleaning crews to assist in the neighborhood cleanup while working in conjunction with the City of Boston Basic City Services Team.

The City of Boston Basic City Services Team is assembled with members from the following city agencies: Property Management, Parks & Recreation, Transportation, Boston Water & Sewer Commission, Public Works, and Code Enforcement along with other outside agencies.

The Sheriff’s Department's Community Works Program (CWP) takes low risk inmates that have been trained at the Suffolk County House of Correction into Suffolk County, under strict officer supervision, to utilize the knowledge and skills that they have learned. The CWP crews and officers assist municipalities in Suffolk County with cleaning their neighborhoods.
