Lieutenants Jose Burgos and Jose Gomez
of the Nashua Street Jail collected supplies for service personnel
stationed in Iraq. The huge quantity of supplies will be sent to
the Bravo Surgical Company, which consists of both Marines and Navy
personnel. The unit was selected because they are treating injured
American soldiers and Marines as well as Iraqi civilians. The officers
collected 5-7 large boxes worth of supplies and $435 that will be
used to buy additional items and to pay to ship the items to Iraq.
Lt. Burgos' son and nephew are both in the Marine Corps. Corporal
Steve Whalen of the Jail was also instrumental in coordinating the
collection of items and money.
