North End—Suffolk County Sheriff’s Department Community Works Program performed general clean up and maintenance on the Nazzaro Community Center on North Bennet Street in Boston’s North End. The inmate work crew spent 10 days cleaning the bathrooms, washing and buffing the floors and other janitorial work during May. There is no janitor at the location. The inmate work crew from the Suffolk County House of Correction saved the City of Boston more than $800 in labor costs for the cleanup. Sheriff Andrea J. Cabral’s Communications & External Affairs Division responded to a call from City Councilor Paul J. Scapicchio for assistance.
