SUFFOLK COUNTY SHERIFF ANDREA J. CABRAL TO MARCH IN MOTHERS’ WALK FOR PEACE

Suffolk County Sheriff Andrea J. Cabral will march in the 7th Annual Mothers’ Walk for Peace in Dorchester on May 11, Mother’s Day. The march begins at 8:30 a.m. and ends at 10 a.m. at Townsfield Park in Fields Corner.

“This walk is a way to symbolize our solidarity with family, friends and neighbors who have been victimized by violence. The Walk for Peace is truly common ground for the Sheriff’s Department and for every neighborhood in our city and our county,” said Sheriff Cabral.

The Walk benefits the Louis D. Brown Peace Institute, the Center for Peace Education and Survivors of Violence Support Services. This year’s theme is “Communities Walking Together in Challenging Times.” Louis Brown was a 15-year-old Dorchester youth who was murdered in the crossfire of a gang shootout in 1993.

Sheriff Cabral will be available for interviews at the conclusion of the Walk at Townsfield Park in Fields Corner, Dorchester.
